Volvo Cars supports wider emerging market seat belt regulation
The company also urges governments around the world to set up basic infrastructure that keeps vulnerable road users like pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists separate from motorized traffic
Volvo Cars has called on governments and regulators around the world to address what the company calls “a large inequality in road safety” between developed and developing economies, according to a company’s press release on 19 February. According to World Health Organization (WHO) data, each year around 1.35 million people lose their lives in traffic accidents. The data also shows that the risk of traffic death is more than three times higher in developing countries than in developed countries.
