Use of ultra-short-range radar helps Korean supplier deals with shortcomings faced by both ultrasound sensors and cameras

Hyundai Mobis has developed a new rear-autonomous emergency braking (R-AEB) system using ultra short-range radar sensor, the company said in a press release today. The new active safety technology is effective in preventing rear-end collisions, when it detects people or objects behind the car, by applying brake automatically if driver fails to respond timely even after hearing alarm.
