Velodyne collaborates with Hyundai Mobis on new lidar-based ADAS system
Korean supplier has agreed to invest USD50 million in the US-based lidar specialist
Velodyne has entered an agreement with Hyundai Mobis to launch a lidar-based advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), the company said in a press release on 23 October. The new ADAS system will integrate Velodyne’s Velarray lidar sensor and Hyundai Mobis cognitive software. According to the local newspaper The Korea Herald, Hyundai Mobis has also agreed to invest USD50 million in Velodyne.
