According to the World Health Organization’s Global Status Report on Road Safety 2018, traffic accidents were responsible for 1.35 million deaths each year and are the 8th leading cause of death among people of all ages. While technological advancements in safety systems have reduced traffic casualties in recent years, these advanced systems are more common to higher segment vehicles and small cars remain prone to increased crash fatalities.
