FCA starts first tests on new Jeep Compass production line at Melfi Plant in Italy

Company to also produce plug-in hybrid version of the model at the plant

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has begun testing a new production line for the Jeep Compass SUV at its Melfi plant in Basilicata, Italy, according to a press release by Jeep last week. The plant is set to commence commercial production of new Compass in the first quarter of 2020. This is expected to be followed quickly by production start of Plug-in Hybrid versiosn of the Jeep Compass and Renegade SUV for the European market.
