EU General Safety Regulation 2019
New vehicle safety regulations in the EU requiring mandatory fitment of active safety technologies is expected to push the demand of active safety components.
In May 2018, the European Commission introduced a new regulation to enhance safety standards for passenger and commercial vehicles. The proposed regulation was part of the European Commission’s third “Europe on the Move” package launched in May 2018. The revised General Safety Regulation 2019 updates the existing vehicle safety standards laid down by the previously adopted General Safety Regulation (EC) 661/2009, the Pedestrian Safety Regulation (EC) 78/2009, and the Hydrogen Safety Regulation (EC) 79/2009.
