VW Group sets more aggressive electrification target; 70 new electric models by 2028
Group plans to build 22 battery electric models in the next decade
Volkswagen Group (VW) is intensifying its efforts in area of vehicle electrification with a more ambitious goal to launch 70 new all-electric models by 2028 compared to its earlier plans of 50 electric models by 2025, the company said in a press release on 12 March. Overall, the German automotive group plans to build 22 million battery electric vehicles (BEVs) on its electric platforms in the next decade, up from 15 million projected earlier.
