SEAT and Telefónica will jointly lead the connected car project

SEAT, Ficosa, Mobile World Capital, Telefónica, ETRA and i2CAT have entered a collaboration agreement to start a pilot program for connected cars, according to a press release by SEAT on 28 January. The agreement will allow SEAT, Ficosa and Spanish technology company ETRA to become member of 5G Barcelona, an open initiative to create digital hub for validation and adoption of the next-generation 5G network in real city environment. 5G Barcelona is promoted by Mobile World Capital, i2CAT and others, including Telefónica. The association aims to position Barcelona as benchmark 5G hub of Europe.
