Zenuity gets approval for testing autonomous vehicles on public roads in Sweden

Test will be conducted by trained drivers with their hands off the steering wheel at a maximum speed of 80kph

Zenuity, a joint venture (JV) between Volvo Cars and Veoneer, has received approval from the Swedish Transportation Agency Transportstyrelsen to test its autonomous vehicles on select public roads in Sweden, Veoneer said in a press release on 28 January. Transportstyrelsen has allowed Zenuity to test its autonomous fleet on Swedish highway E4 between Stockholm and Malmö, road 40 between Jönköping and Gothenburg, and E6 between Gothenburg and Malmö.
