EU member states support measures to restrict steel imports; ACEA ‘extremely disappointed’

ACEA says these measures do not take into account the needs of downstream users of steel, such as the automotive sector

The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) issued a statement on 16 January confirming that 28 European Union (EU) member states have backed the European Commission’s (EC) proposal to levy a 25% duty on steel imports above certain thresholds, based on average imports over the last three years.
