Automobility LA 2018: Volvo Cars, Luminar to showcase advanced lidar sensor and and perception capabilities

Volvo Cars and Luminar are showcasing their jointly developed advanced lidar sensor and perception capabilities at the Automobility LA 2018 in Los Angles, United States, the two companies said in a press release on 27 November. According to the two companies, the new perception capabilities of the system make it possible to detect human poses including limbs such as arms and legs. The new technology can detect objects at a range of up to 250 meters.
