New joint solution can understand driver’s emotional state based on facial and verbal expressions

Nuance Communications, a provider of conversational AI (artificial intelligence) solutions, and Affectiva, a specialist in emotional AI (Emotion AI), have collaborated to develop a joint automotive assistant capable of detecting driver distraction and drowsiness through understanding driver’s emotional state, according to Nuance press release on 6 September.
