CATL to build EV battery production factory in Germany
Chinese battery supplier to invest USD281 million in the first phase at the German factory
China-based Contemporary Amperex Technology Ltd (CATL) will establish its first European battery production factory in Germany, Reuters reported on Monday (9 July). The electric vehicle (EV) battery supplier signed a contract to build the new plant in Erfurt, Thuringia (Germany), during the recent visit of China’s Premier Li Keqiang to Germany, according to the report.
