Baidu partners with King Long, SoftBank to launch autonomous bus services in Japan
King Long will export 10 units of its Apolong autonomous minibuses to Japan in early 2019
Baidu has joined forces with King Long, a commercial vehicle manufacturer in China, and SB Drive, a subsidiary of SoftBank dedicated to self-driving technology research, to launch an autonomous bus service in Japan, Baidu announced at its annual artificial intelligence (AI) developer conference, ‘Baidu Create’ in Beijing today (4 July). Under the partnership, King Long will export 10 units of its Apolong autonomous mini buses to Japan from China in early 2019.
