Shared mobility becoming more common as more people explore alternative transportation modes

The future of the automotive industry is believed to be moving more towards car-sharing and ride-hailing rather than car ownership. The motivation behind new mobility services is all about lowering costs, increasing convenience and access, and reducing emissions through higher utilization rates of expensive assets. Shared vehicle use technology is already available via cloud platforms and smartphone applications in multiple segments such as ride-hailing, car-sharing, and ride-sharing. The area of vehicle access systems is of key interest to both vehicle manufacturers and consumers, as systems are slowly changing from keyless vehicle access to virtual keys.
