VW joins LIFT public-private partnership to advance research into lightweight metals
To research how internal components can be made lighter while improving performance, reducing manufacturing costs
The Volkswagen Group of America has joined Lightweight Innovations For Tomorrow (LIFT), a Detroit-based public-private partnership for developing and deploying advanced lightweight metal manufacturing technologies, to advance research and development of lightweight materials for future vehicles, according to a LIFT press release earlier this month.
