New division will manage group’s 56 production facilities and 80,000 employees globally

The Volkswagen (VW) Group is planning to bring all of its car parts manufacturing operations under one roof and operate it as a separate division within the group, Reuters reported on Wednesday (11 October). The new division will produce auto parts, including engines and transmission, for the entire VW Group and will manage the group’s 56 production facilities and 80,000 employees globally. According to Handelsblatt Global, the new division will be headed by Thomas Schmall, who is currently head of supply at VW.
