New standard is developed by a working group led by GM along with Tsinghua University and Changan Auto

China has released its first standard designed for vehicle to everything (V2X) application layer, according to a press release by GM on 19 September. The new standard, developed by a working group led by GM along with Tsinghua University and Changan Auto, provides a framework that is independent of basic communication tools. This is expected to enable automakers in China to develop interoperable V2X applications for data interaction. The new standard also offers a mechanism for automakers to use a single communication technology for the development and commercialization of all V2X applications.
