ZF, Baidu agree to collaborate on autonomous driving

Collaboration to leverage Baidu’s expertise in artificial intelligence, big data and cloud-based services and ZF’s know-how in vehicle control system

ZF has entered a strategic cooperation agreement with China-based technology company Baidu to collaborate on areas such as autonomous driving, telematics and mobility services, the Germany-based automotive supplier said in a press release on 12 September. The collaboration will bring on board Baidu’s expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), big data and cloud-based service solutions and ZF’s experience in vehicle control system, ZF ProAI to develop technical solutions for autonomous driving in China. The Chinese company will also provide its key technology on autonomous driving including high-definition (HD) map.
