Toyota makes additional investment in AI-start-up Preferred Networks

Latest investment will make the Japanese automaker the largest external shareholder in the company

Toyota has made an additional investment of JPY10.5 billion (USD95 million) in Preferred Networks (PFN), a Tokyo (Japan)-based start-up specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, the company said in a press release last week. Earlier in December 2015, the Japanese automaker had invested JPY1 billion in PFN.
