Swedish automaker plans to launch five electric and a range of gasoline and diesel plug-in hybrid and 48V mild-hybrid options on all models between 2019 and 2021

Volvo Cars plans to electrify all new models from 2019, the Swedish automaker announced in a press release today (5 July). The company will introduce a portfolio of electrified cars comprising pure electric, plug-in hybrid and mild-hybrid, across its model range. Between 2019 and 2021, Volvo plans to launch five fully electric cars, three under Volvo brand and two under its high-performance car brand Polestar. These pure electric models will be supplemented by a range of gasoline and diesel plug-in hybrid and 48V mild-hybrid models.
