Directs federal prosecutors to investigate Waymo’s claim in the case

A US district judge, who is looking at Waymo’s lawsuit against Uber over alleged stealing of massive confidential data and files related to Lidar technology, which is used in self-driving car, has rejected the ride-sharing company’s request to send the case for arbitration, Bloomberg reported on 12 May. Judge William Alsup also directed federal prosecutors to investigate Waymo’s claim in the case. Alsup noted that Uber has been trying to steer the lawsuit into arbitration despite having no agreement with anyone to arbitrate the case. The ruling leaves Uber with no options but face trial in open court, scheduled in the month of October.
