Consumer groups push for stringent regulations

Automakers have requested the California state regulators to further ease its proposed regulations for testing self-driving cars, Reuters reported on 26 April. At a public hearing in Sacramento, California (United States) on Tuesday (25 April), automakers requested California to drop some additional proposed regulations and leave much of the oversight to the federal National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
