Honda plans new R&D unit for ‘new value’ areas

New center to focus on robotics technology, mobility system and artificial intelligence

Honda plans to set up a new research and development (R&D) center in Japan which will focus on what the Japanese automaker is calling “new-value” areas such as robotics technology, mobility system and energy management, among others, the company said in a press release on Tuesday (28 February). The new center, to be called, R&D Center X, will be established in April and will be managed by Honda R&D Co., Ltd, the R&D subsidiary of the Japanese automaker.
