Affected Sonata produced between May 2014 and March 2016 while Sonata Hybrid built between December 2014 and August 2015

Hyundai Motor America has issued a recall for 62,811 Sonata sedans of model years 2015−16, including Hybrid models, over an issue with the panoramic sunroof. According to documents filed with US regulator the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), if the sunroof panel detaches while the vehicle is in motion, the panel could "become an obstacle to other drivers, increasing the risk of crash". Hyundai says it is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue.
