Hyundai Motor Group has offered a USD1,053 subsidy under the South Korean government's scrappage programme to replace diesel cars with new ones, and plans to expand its EV line-up

Hyundai and its affiliate Kia plan to offer a KRW1.2 million (USD1,053) subsidy to owners of aged diesel vehicles purchasing new vehicles. The subsidy is a part of the South Korean government's subsidy programme to replace diesel cars with new ones. Hyundai decided to provide incentives to align with the government campaign to reduce the number of diesel vehicles on the road, as the automaker feels this is “the best opportunity” for consumers to buy a wide range of Hyundai models at cheaper prices.
