OEMs and suppliers comment on UK’s EU membership referendum
The possibility of Britain exiting from the EU, termed ‘Brexit’ in the general media, could raise a series of issues affecting both OEM vehicle assemblers and suppliers operating in the UK.
The European Union referendum campaign officially started on April 15. This will lead up to a ballot on June 23 which will indicate whether UK residents are in favour of staying in or leaving the EU block of countries. Those eligible to vote include UK residents (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), and Commonwealth citizens residing in the UK and in Gibraltar.
