SIAM claims draft notification "dilutes" requirements on key parameters such as octane number and density.

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has criticised the draft Bharat Stage VI (BS VI) fuel standards, terming them "highly diluted". "BS VI fuel norms announced in the draft notification have been highly diluted as compared to Euro VI norms in Europe and take India back to BS II fuel level of specifications which were prevalent in 2000," the Press Trust of India (PTI) quoted SIAM director general Vishnu Mathur as saying.
