The United States’ improving automotive market conditions
Production volumes soar and new market entrants promise future opportunities to the local supply base
North America remains a major bright spot among mature markets for automotive suppliers. Local production volumes have surpassed pre-crisis levels and are at an all-time record with 17 million units expected to be produced in 2015. New OEMs are investing in the region and those already present are expanding or devising their plans to expand their production footprint in the region. Audi is building a new facility in Mexico and Japanese carmakers have just opened, or are in the process of building, plants in Mexico.
