Hyundai and Kia are still heavily reliant on a series of core suppliers operating within the Hyundai Motor Group (HMG). As the OEMs have extended their respective global manufacturing footprints, they have displayed an overwhelming preference for using these suppliers as they too have expanded their respective manufacturing networks.

Purchasing at Hyundai Kia is currently based on three primary sourcing channels: internal production; group sourcing, and external procurement.
