Will share structural components such as the floorpan

Tata Motors could use the architecture of Land Rover's Discovery Sport for a brand new sport utility vehicle (SUV) that it is developing. Autocar India reports that the vehicle, codenamed Q501, will share structural components such as the floorpan with the Discovery Sport, but that the two vehicles will be completely different in terms of look and feel. This is also said to include different exterior and interior styling, and a more basic but robust suspension system. The report adds that the Q501 will also use a different engine, with Fiat's 2.0-litre Multijet II diesel engine being evaluated with power touted at between 150-bhp and 175-bhp, although lower-power variants could also be launched.
