Sustainable market growth key to providing the necessary atmosphere for Mercedes to produce cars in Turkey.

Daimler has hinted that Mercedes passenger cars could eventually be built in Turkey, reports Cihan News Agency. Mercedes-Benz Türk marketing and sales director Süer Sülün was quoted as telling a meeting in Istanbul (Turkey) last week that sustainable market growth would provide the necessary atmosphere for Mercedes to produce cars in Turkey. He added that the market lags behind its real potential due to the high taxation on vehicles sold in the market. Sülün added that the company is planning to continue investing in truck and bus production capacity, even though economic conditions may create difficulties for the first half of 2015.
