The largest impacts 2005–08 model-year (MY) Escape hybrids and MY2006–08 Mariner hybrids

Ford issued three recalls on 12 September 2014, according to the Detroit News. The largest impacts 2005–08 model-year (MY) Escape hybrids, and MY2006–08 Mariner hybrids, about 74,000 units in total in the US. The Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner hybrid sport utility vehicles (SUVs) are being recalled for a motor electronic coolant pump issue in that the part could fail and cause a sudden stall-like condition while driving. According to the report, Ford said it "would be accompanied by audible and visual indicators in the instrument cluster, and the vehicle's braking and steering systems will continue to operate normally. An engine stall without warning while driving, however, may increase the risk of a crash". The second recall impacts 400 MY2014 Ford Focus, 2015 Lincoln MKC, and 2014 Escape SUVs. A crack may develop between the fuel pump filter body and the filter cap, which could result in low fuel pressure, causing a malfunction indicator light illumination, extended crank, no start, loss of power or engine stall. Dealers will replace the fuel delivery module for both. The third covers 1,700 MY2014 F-650 and F-750 trucks with Cummins ISB diesel engines. The bond that attaches the fuel filter shell to the filter nut plate may fail, resulting in the shell separating from the filter nut plate and causing a fuel leak, which in turn could cause the engine to stall without warning and without the ability to restart the engine until the fuel filter has been replaced. Ford's programme supports the facilitation of a Cummins programme in which Cummins dealers will replace suspect engine fuel filters.
