Toyota may pay USD1 billion in US probe – report
Agreement is expected to include deferred prosecution, which would allow Japanese automaker to avoid criminal charges if it meets certain conditions imposed by the court
The US Justice Department is expected to announce a settlement as early as today (19 March 2014) to end a criminal probe into the disclosure of Toyota safety issues dating back to the late 2000s, according to a Wall Street Journal (WSJ) report.
