The Cascada: the cabriolet to move Opel upmarket?
SupplierBusiness visited Opel’s production plant in Gilwice, Poland to take a look at production of the new model
The Opel Cascada occupies an unusual place in the market; it is somewhat bigger than the C-segment cabriolets like the Renault Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet and Peugeot 308 CC, although it is not as expensive as the more premium Audi A5 Cabriolet and which it matches more in terms of size. Mass or volume market brands have not offered many cabriolets in the D-segment in the past, leaving this segment to the likes of Audi (A4 and now A5), BMW (3-series, now the 4-series) and Mercedes with the CLK.
