The increasing technical content of mirrors opened up major market opportunities for mirror manufacturers. We take a look at how the latest technologies from OEMs and suppliers in the sector and how the market is split
Mirrors are progressively being linked with cameras; this is due to legislative influences, ie the Kids Transportation Safety Act in North America, although the full implementation of this Act is still some way off. In addition, the convergence of mirrors and cameras reflects competition amongst the OEMs who have started to add cameras as a differentiation feature before the legislative pressures to fit them began to emerge.
