The role of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) within today’s cockpit is becoming ever more important. Not only are there increasing concerns over the safety of vehicles and their occupants when there is so much potential for driver distraction resulting from the sheer complexity of the electronics/safety and communications systems, but the way in which such systems are controlled is also causing concern.
