Need to align production with reduced demand

Nissan has announced 60 days of temporary lay-offs at its Avila (Spain) site during the course of the next fiscal year, reports El Mundo. The automaker says that it will make use of the Spanish government's Expediente de Regulación de Empleo (ERE) temporary redundancy scheme after it was unable to reach a local agreement with staff. This will be followed by legal consultation between management at the site and worker representatives.
