Honda’s approach to global sourcing is based on the idea of achieving ‘global competitive-ness locally’. The Japanese carmaker has been very cautious in the implementation of this strategy despite having a number of cost competitive countries such as Thailand and Taiwan, while looking to decentralise from its main industrial base in Japan.
