Italian supplier seeks to utilise China as manufacturing hub; expecting improved results in Q4

As a counter-measure to the continuing economic turmoil, Brembo's strategic intent is to strengthen its manufacturing bases in the low-cost markets by following a combination of both organic and inorganic growth strategies. Brembo is betting on high growth potentials of the Chinese automotive market, for instance the Italian supplier recently expressed target to triple its output of brake discs and callipers by 2013 in the country. To this end, Brembo entered into a pact with Donghua Automotive Industrial Co, a subsidiary of SAIC Group, on 2 December 2009 to set up a new integrated manufacturing hub for brake systems for passenger cars and commercial vehicles in China.
