Tesla cars added to government procurement lists in mainland China's Fujian province
This move is seen by experts as a reflection of mainland China's commitment to promoting the NEV sector and its openness to international brands
Tesla Inc has been officially added to the government procurement lists of mainland China's Fujian and Jiangsu provinces, marking a significant step in mainland China's efforts to open its New Energy Vehicle (NEV) industry to foreign companies. This inclusion in Fujian province allows local government entities and related organizations the option to purchase Tesla's Model Y, an SUV that has become the company's most popular model, with a starting price of ¥249,900 ($35,000).
