Umicore and PowerCo JV obtains regulatory approvals to start battery-materials production in Europe
The joint venture will produce CAMs that are key technological levers for battery performance and overall cost
Umicore and PowerCo, the new battery company of the Volkswagen Group, have obtained full regulatory approvals for their joint venture announced in September 2022, it said in a press release dated March 23, paving the way to prepare for large-scale industrial production of cathode active materials (CAM) and precursor materials (PCAM) in Europe.
