Volkswagen drops heat pump from ID range due to semiconductor shortage
VW will continue to deliver EVs in Canada without heat pumps until further notice
Europe’s largest carmaker Volkswagen has stopped offering the optional heat pump in its electric cars under the ID range, according to a news report published by online news portal ELECTRIVE on 19 January 2023. The report said that VW has dropped the heat pumps from its ID series for the time being due to the persisting shortage of semiconductors.
