NHTSA opens probe of Cruise robo-taxi braking, clogging traffic in US

The government has received several instances of Cruise robo-taxis operating without human safety drivers being stuck in San Francisco traffic

The US safety regulator National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating whether General Motors’ autonomous robotaxis Cruise can stop too quickly or unexpectedly quit moving, potentially stranding passengers, according to a report published by The Associated Press on 16 December 2022.
