Japan’s Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura noted that the new IRA 2022 mandates may violate the WTO trade rules

Japan has expressed concern to the United States that electric cars developed by the Japanese automakers may not be eligible to qualify for the EV tax credits under the new rules introduced in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA 2022) last month, according to a news report published by Nikkei Asia on 9 September 2022.
