BMW begins production of fuel cell systems for iX5 Hydrogen powered SUVs in Munich
The fuel cell system manufactured in-house at the BMW’s competence center for hydrogen is one of the core elements in the BMW iX5 Hydrogen and generates a high continuous output of 125 kW/170 hp
Munich-based luxury carmaker BMW has commenced production of Hydrogen fuel-cell systems for a pilot fleet of its iX5 sport utility vehicles (SUVs), the company said on 31 August 2022. The start of fuel-cell system production at the BMW’s competence center for hydrogen in Munich was inaugurated by the chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG Oliver Zipse and Frank Weber, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Development.
