UK government to provide funding support to Britishvolt for building USD4.6-billion gigaplant
At full production capacity, the planned battery plant will be able to produce enough battery cells to roll out more than 300,000 lithium-ion batteries a year
UK-based battery technology company Britishvolt announced on 28 July 2022 that it has received a confirmation letter that states that it will receive funding support from the UK government through its Automotive Transformation Fund (ATF), which is managed by the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC).
