GM-LGES are investing more than USD7 billion to build three battery plants in the US

The US Energy Department plans to provide a loan of up to USD2.5 billion to General Motors–LG Energy Solution (LGES) battery joint venture (JV) Ultium Cells LLC to help finance the construction of new li-ion battery-cell-manufacturing facilities, according to a news report published by Reuters on 25 July 2022.
