Germany’s Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection to fund battery recycling project

As part of the project, a pilot plant will be built at the Mercedes-Benz site in Kuppenheim to enable efficient recycling of battery materials

The Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) in Germany is funding the development of lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery recycling capabilities with EUR16.66 million (over USD17.2 million), BMWK said in a media notification issued on 5 July 2022.
