Volkswagen begins production of all-electric ID.4 at Emden factory in Germany

VW has invested more than USD1 billion in converting the Emden plant to produce EVs with its 8,000 employees

Volkswagen has started producing the all-electric ID.4 EV at its Emden-based manufacturing unit in Germany, the company said on 20 May 2022. The Emden site now becomes VW’s second factory to produce EVs in Germany, following the Zwickau plant.
